I’m shocked, and saddened, as I write this in December 2021…

Ira and I worked together at his Studio Street location across the street from CBN, and his later location on Holland Rd. in Virginia Beach with A&E Music.  We traveled to San Francisco for an Audio Engineering Society convention, and for the years we spent together working, he was a true friend and mentor.

Ira’s published book (Hal Leonard Publishing), Audio Made Easy, is still a good seller, and he made audio engineering easy for laypersons to understand.  It is, truly, Audio Made Easy - thanks to Ira.

I moved to Colorado, and I wasn’t in touch with Ira when he moved to FL.  I was unaware that he moved, thanks to my life changes.  I’m saddened finding out about Ira’s passing, a year later.  I missed out on Ira, completely - and I am truly sorry that he isn’t here with us anymore.  To his family - I’m sorry that I never got a chance to meet you.  Ira was the BEST.

He had a sweetness that most men of our generation don’t possess.  He was a dedicated servant to God, and he never made me feel uncomfortable being a lapsed Roman Catholic - he was like that with everyone.

Godspeed, brother.  We love you.

I remember when Ira took Rebecca and I to go see a scary movie, I was much younger and he was living in the white 2 story home. 
I believe Rebecca has about 10?
Anyway the character he was every chance he could get he would scare the crap out of us anytime he had the chance that he knew a scary part would come up. I would hit him every time. Good Times!

When Ira and I were very young we would get together at his grandparents home which was just a few houses down from my boyhood home. Ira had been given a ukulele from a neighbor and was learning to play. He would spend hours learning the chords and making up little songs. His first song he wrote was “She was mine in my heart”  later Ira took up guitar and song writing and his musical achievements were amazing. I miss Ira everyday but to remember him I just put in one of his CD’s and go back in time. Love you Ira ! 

I met Ira at one of the many events that Michael and Becky have  invited me to. He was very kind with a very gentle and peaceful demeanor. He had a very light sense of  humor but was very easy to converse with and had a sharp and brilliant mind. I enjoyed the time I got to know him.  He gave us a wonderful daughter named Rebecca (Becky) who with her husband Michael have adopted me into her family. He will be missed very much.

     I met Ira when he moved to Glenmont Street in Falls Church Virginia in 1964.  We became friends, during the summer as I attended boarding school the rest of the year.  Ira and I formed a folk singing group that performed at local church events.  Then it happened.  He introduced me to his twin sister Marcia.  In 1968, I made my best friend my brother-in-law.  
     Thank you Ira for sharing your family with me.  Marcia and I celebrated our 50th anniversary  in 2018, and while you couldn't be there, you were, and always will be such an important part of our family.  Looking forward to seeing you in paradise later on.

Ira (Petey) is my cousin and more importantly, my friend. Florida was not kind to him, and the time we spent together was not always happy. Well, we said, when we get back together in Fall 2020, things will have calmed down and it will time to have some fun, fishing, diving, etc. He craved to be with Sue more than anything, so my grief should be happiness for him. But he was my friend.....

The world has lost a kind, smart and caring man. Godspeed Ira

Though we only got to know you a few years ago, you touched so many people here with your thoughtfulness, kindness your sense of humor and your music. We waited for you to return to Florida but now you left suddenly again but this time you’ve found your home with God. I will miss that smile.  You made a lot of people very happy that you came into their lives and their hearts

I had the pleasure of meeting and  learning some sound engineering tips from. Mr. White during his wife's memorial service.   I've never met someone so kind and humble. My prayers are with you as you walk through your loss.   May God's Grace and Peace rest upon the family.

Ira was the kindest, most considerate and genuinely talented people I have ever known. His love of music and the Lord will never be forgotten.  He walks with the Lord with Cindy beside him in fields of gold.... He is so very missed...

When Ira and I were about 12 we would sit on his Grandmothers bed for hours while he learned to play ukulele. The gift was from Mr. Gray a neighbor across the street.  Ira was a natural and taught himself quickly.  Ira immediately started to write songs using simple tunes. His first song was “She was mine in my heart”. In reflection, I believe the song was about the future love of his life, Susan. We were close friends for 58 years and spoke weekly. I have never known a kinder more loving man. I will miss you Ira but one day we will be together again sitting on that bed while you play guitar and sing. You are  one of a kind, I love you. Tom Goodman

Ira was a brother-in-law for much of my life but seemed more like a true brother to me. I will always remember his dry sense of humor and his great love of music. He always seemed to be so calm and at peace in all situations. He will be missed. Rest in peace Sir.

I am going to miss you very much Ira. 
Your home with Susan now where you longed to be but I wish you could have stayed with us a little longer. 
Tell Dad, Mom and my husband I love and miss them too. 
We will all be together again one day.
