Jane Gray Layden

Jane Gray Layden, 91, passed away on Monday, June 20, 2022 in Nolensville, TN. Jane was born in Edenton, NC to the late Albert and Mildred Gray. She is preceded in death by her husband Herman “Red” Layden and brother “Buck” Gray. Jane was a long time resident of Virginia Beach and an active member of Princess Anne Plaza Baptist Church. She was first and foremost a wife and mother devoted to her family, friends, and church. Her sense of humor and kindness were evident to all who knew her. Jane is survived by her three sons: Steve (Sharon) Layden of Virginia Beach, VA, Scott (Diana) Layden of Orlando, FL, Stanley (Kathy) Layden of Nolensville, TN. Nine grandchildren: Christina (Brian) O’Donnell, Craig (Helen) Layden, Gray Layden, Ross Layden, Scott Layden JR, Andy (Ashley) Layden, Aaron (Dominique) Layden, Sarah (Dylan) Murray, Bennett Layden and 13 great grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be conducted at 2pm, Sunday, June 26, 2022 at Smith and Williams Funeral Home. There will be a visitation one hour prior to meet the family.
