

Janet was a woman of intelligence and compassion, whose life was marked by a dedication to her work and the love she held for her family and interests. After completing her education at Oklahoma University with a Bachelor of Arts degree, she embarked on a career as a Technical Writer with LTD (Boeing), where she was known for her attention to detail and clarity in communication. Following her time at Boeing, Janet devoted a decade of her life to serving others as a counselor for the American Cancer Society, offering support and guidance to those in need before she retired.
Her love for the arts was evident in her passion for reading and her fondness for musicals. Among her favorites were classics such as "The Sound of Music," "Carousel," and "Oklahoma!" which brought her great joy over the years.
Janet was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Forrest Lee Bird, whom she married in 1972; her parents, Charles Theodore and Charlotte Theresa Burggraf; her brother, William Burggraf; and her grandson, Brandon Diaz de Leon.
She leaves behind a legacy of love through her surviving family: her children, Beth Archer of Phoenix, AZ; Brooke Shaw and her husband Richard of Leesville, SC; and David K. Milford and his wife Pamela of Virginia Beach, VA. She was cherished by her grandchildren, Christina, Antonio, Janet, Cassandra, Kelcie, Hannah, and Ryan, as well as her great grandchildren, Domonic, Isaiah, Liliana, and Mae.

Janet Lynne Bird will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and the gentle impact she had on the lives of those around her.
