Joesey Irving, 75, went to be with the Lord on July 27, 2021 from triple negative breast cancer. She was born December 25, 1945 in Norfolk, VA. She was predeceased by her parents J.C. and Edowise Ammons; and brother, Mack Ammons.
Joesey graduated from Princess Anne High School in 1964. She retired from the City of Virginia Beach as Executive Assistant to the Director of Human Resources with 35 years of service.
She was an active member of Knotts Island United Methodist Church, serving the Lord as treasurer for many years, Choir member, and member of Knotts Island United Methodist Women. She also served Knotts Island as a member of the Knotts Island Fire Department Auxiliary, and a meals-on-wheels deliverer
for the Senior Center.
Joesey had a love for Elvis Presley music, furry friends (especially Mackey) and all people she ever met.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 56 years who was the love of her life, Paul D. Irving; son Mark Irving and girlfriend Lisa Furmon; brother, Tony Ammons and wife Jean; sister-in-law, Marie Ammons; brother-in-law, Bryan Irving; sister-in-law, Marian Riggs and husband Lloyd; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, Sunday, August 1st, at Knotts Island United Methodist Church with a viewing at 12:30 PM. Burial will follow in Knotts Island Cemetery. A reception will follow. You may offer condolences at www.smithandwilliamsfuneralhome.com
