

John Michael "Mike" Daley, born September 6, 1946, in Newport, Rhode Island, passed away peacefully on August 31, 2025, in Shawboro, North Carolina, at the age of 78, surrounded by all of his girls and his best friend (former wife).
Fondly known as John by God Daley, a devoted family man and a cherished friend, was a self-employed general contractor known for his dedication, skill, and integrity. His passion for architecture led him to earn a Certificate of Architecture in New York, NY, and his commitment to service was reflected in his lifetime membership with VFW Post 392.
Mike had a zest for life and a love for adventure. He enjoyed cooking and baking, often sharing his creations with those he loved. He relished time playing pool and throwing darts, and his fondness for the outdoors was evident in the cherished memories he created taking his children camping and 4-wheeling on the beach. Above all, Mike treasured spending time with his family, who brought immense joy to his life.
Preceded in death by his beloved parents, Yvonne Adel Burke and John Michael Daley; his son, John Daley; and three brothers and two sisters, Mike's legacy lives on through those who survive him. These include his four loving daughters, Dawn Daley, Tina Stephenson, Nicki Amigoni, and Angela Gillen, as well as his former wife and best friend, Linda Daley. Mike is also survived by two brothers, one sister, nine grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Mike will be remembered for his warm heart, unwavering friendship, and the love he shared with his family and friends. He leaves behind a rich tapestry of memories and a legacy of love that will endure in the hearts of all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 7:00 pm on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Sneeky Pete's, 4706 Princess Anne Rd, Virginia Beach, VA 23462
