June Anne Morris, 88, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, May 3, 2025. June was born on August 8, 1936, to the late William T. and Pauline L. Peterson in Princess Anne County, Virginia. Her husband of 62 years, James Thomas Morris, preceded her in death.
June was a graduate of Oceana High School. A lifelong member of Tabernacle United Methodist Church, June cherished her many years of service as a Sunday school teacher. She and her husband farmed side-by-side, and in their later years, they ran a local produce stand, operating on the honor system. She loved meeting people and making friends through this venture. June was also renowned for her baking, especially her cakes, which graced countless birthdays, weddings, and family gatherings over the years.
She is survived by many beloved nephews, nieces, and cousins, as well as the brother and two sisters of James.
The Morris Family extends heartfelt thanks to Brenda and Mike Riggs, as well as to LuAnn Bolden and her family for their devoted care and companionship in June’s later years. June held each of them close to her heart and considered them cherished members of her extended family.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, May 13, at 2 PM at Charity United Methodist Cemetery, 4080 Charity Neck Rd., Virginia Beach, VA.
