Madeline C. Smith

Virginia Beach – Madeline C. Smith, 89, was called home by her Lord on Thursday, July 5th. Born in the Munden section of Princess Anne County, she was the daughter of the late John W. and Pauline B. Cartwright and the widow of Ervin T. Smith.

She is survived by her two sons, Wayne Smith and wife Shelley of Cambridge, MD and Alan Smith and wife Diane of Virginia Beach. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jeannie Jeffer and husband Don of Natural Bridge, VA, Scott Smith and wife Andrea of Tappahannock, VA and Robert Smith and wife Becky of Virginia Beach; great-grandchildren, Donnie and Bailey Jeffer and Philip and Jason Smith. She also leaves extended family members and many friends to cherish her memory.

Madeline was a member of Charity United Methodist Church. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, July 8 at 2:00 pm at Charity, 4080 Charity Neck Rd, officiated by Pastor Robert J. Robertson. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the church building fund.
