Margaret Ann Murphy

Margaret Ann Murphy, 96, passed away on June 7, 2023. She was born in Norfolk, VA to the late Anthony and Josephine Mollura. In her spare time Margaret enjoyed reading, watching comedy shows, going to lunch with her friends, and shopping. She was a woman who enjoyed the simple things in life. Most of all she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Ann Spruill of Chesapeake; son, Michael Hall (JoAnn) of Chesapeake; 8 grandchildren; and many great grandchildren. She was predeceased by 2 sons, Robert Sawyer and Patrick Downing; 3 brothers, Frank, John and Vincent Mollura; 1 grandchild Dawn Sawyer and great grandchildren, Conner and Riley Haddigan.

The family will receive friends from 9-10:00 AM on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at Smith & Williams Funeral Home with a funeral service at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Norfolk. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.
