W. Marie Foreman, 100, passed away on August 27, 2022. She was born in South Norfolk, VA to the late Russell and Ruth Rock. Marie was a homemaker, taking good care of her family. She was strong in her faith and was a member of Norview United Methodist Church for over 70 years; she was the oldest living member. Marie was also the associate recording secretary for the Ruth Reinfeld bible class, a member of the United Methodist Women, a charter member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 99 for over 45 years, and the Ladies of the Scottish Rite. Marie had a good sense of humor; she was a hoot. She was also a strong and loving woman who will be missed by all who knew her. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 56 years, Thomas “Tommy” J. Foreman, Jr.; 2 brothers; and 3 sisters.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Eleanor Ruth Davis; 2 grandchildren, Dale Marie McLaughlin-Swanner (John) and Charles W. Miller, III; 3 great-grandchildren, Kelsea Lynn Pearl Miller, Sarah Grace Marie Miller, and Tyler Dashe McLaughlin; 2 “special daughters”, Tina Marie Rarick and Claudia Beth Koenig; sister, Emma Lee Harper; and many special nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 PM, on Wednesday, August 31, 2022, at Smith & Williams Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, September 1, 2022 at Riverside Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Norview UMC in her name.
