Mary Moore Lewis

Mrs. Lewis was the daughter of the late George Tazwell Moore and Lou Hopkins Moore. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Clyde Lewis, Sr., a son, Clyde Lewis, Jr., a brother, Robert Moore, and five sisters, Essie Moore Landrum, Mattie Moore Thompson, Ollie Louise Moore, Edna Moore Arendall and “Lizzie” Moore Womack. She was a member of Kempsville Baptist Church and the Dorcus Sunday School Class.

Survivors include her daughter, Nancy L. Crawford and husband, Carl of Suffolk, VA; four grandchildren, Amy Erestain, Lori Duron and their father, John Helton; Leanne Lewis and Christopher Lewis; eight great grandchildren, Ashlee, Brittany, Cierra and Danielle Erestain; and Chelsea, Randall, Brandon and Melissa Lewis; a brother-in-law, Melvin Lewis.

The family will receive friends on Monday, December 6, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel where a celebration of Mrs. Lewis’s life will be held on Tuesday, December 7, 2010, 1:30 p.m. by The Rev. Ken Carlton. Interment will follow at Colonial Grove Cemetery.
