

She was born in Nash County, North Carolina and moved to the Tidewater area 60 years ago. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, and needle point.
She was a Past Matron of Kempsville Chapter No. 173 Order of the Eastern Star, Past High Priestess of Zulekia Court, Ladies of the Oriental Shrine #35, former member of Al Kena Temple No 124, Daughter of the Nile, and Past Directresses of Nosam Ive. No. 8, Royal Order of Jesterettes.
She was the widow of Frank L. Mathews and Jessie Herbert Glasgow and proceeded by her parents and brother. She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Woollard (Ernest) and son, Justin Glasgow, one sister, five brothers and six grandchildren. The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of Marian Manor and Medi Home Hospice team.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 am-12:00 pm, Thursday, December 27, 2012 with a service to follow at 12:00 pm at Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel. Burial will follow at Rosewood Memorial Park. A reception will follow at Kempsville Masonic Lodge, 4869 Princess Anne Rd., Virginia Beach. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Cancer Research Fund or Hope Haven Children/Adult Home, 300 N. Landing Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23456.
