

Bob was born in Rich Square, NC, on August 14, 1936 to the late Rebecca Johnson and Joseph Wheeler Harrington. Bob was a member of Rich Square Baptist Church. He attended Chowan College, in Murfreesboro, NC, served as assistant purchasing agent for the City of Virginia Beach for ten years, and was former co-owner of Bubba’s Marina. Bob was owner and vice president of Sea-Tech Systems.
Survivors include his loving wife, Evelyn Kirby Harrington; two daughters, Teresa Harrington and husband Stan Yakstis, and Lisa Harrington Sirrine and husband Scott; three grandchildren, Anna Katherine (Katie) Harrington, Alex Harrington Sirrine, and Hunter Harrington Sirrine; siblings, Agnes Jones, Gerald Harrington and wife Irene, Wade Harrington and wife Martha, Mary Leggett and husband Don, Carol Godwin and husband Larry, and Ben Harrington and wife Terry; sisters-in-law, Jean Harrington and Rose Askew; as well as many loved nieces and nephews.
Bob is preceded in death his siblings, Joseph Harrington, Russell Harrington, and Linda Johnson and husband David.

The family will receive friends at Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., where a celebration of Bob’s life will begin at 3:00 p.m. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Cedar Lawn Cemetery in Rich Square, NC.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
