Roy Edward Brinn Jr., age 78, of Virginia Beach, Virginia passed away on Thursday, September 10, 2020. Roy was born November 22, 1941 to the late Roy and Stella Brinn. He spent many years working as a custom home builder and he worked non-stop. Roy was an avid deer hunter, which he enjoyed with his father (Roy, Sr.), brother (Terry), son (Keith), grandson (Duell) and sometimes his granddaughter, Sydney.
Left to cherish his memory is the love of his life, Norma G. Brinn; son, Keith E. Brinn and his wife, Becky; daughter, Deborah Brinn Mason and her husband, Frank; grandchildren, Courtney, Nikki, Duell, Sydney, and Alex; great-grandchildren, Tucker, Anna, Molly, Ryder, Tela, Bentley, and Charlie; and brother, Terry Brinn and his wife, Kathy.
Roy was a man of God and enjoyed reading his Bible daily while relaxing in his chair. In his younger years, Roy and Norma were members of Kempsville Church of Christ where they worked with many in the Youth Group. After moving to Pungo, they joined Church of Christ at Creeds continuing the Lord's work.
Roy touched the lives of so many, and was loved by all who knew him. His happy personality and sense of humor was an inspiration to all who spent time with him. Roy was a devoted family man who loved and cherished every second he got to spend with them, especially his great-grandchildren. Even though he worked hard, spent as much time as possible with family, he would never turn down the opportunity to help someone in need.
Norma says that Roy was her Rock. She met him on the school bus when he she was 15 years old, and she pointed at him and said “I am going to marry that man” to her friend. She has been with him every day since and will cherish the memories they made together over the last 59 years of marriage.
A visitation for Roy will be held Wednesday, September 16, 2020 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Smith & Williams Funeral Home/Kempsville, 4889 Princess Anne Road, Virginia Beach, Virginia 23462.
