Nécrologie de Shirley Mae Williams
Shirley Mae Williams, 89, July 27, 1931-February 12, 2021 passed away peacefully to be with our Lord. The family entrusted her care in her last days to the wonderful and caring nurses and staff at Sentara Va. Beach General Hospital. A Norfolk native, Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Mary Hudgins and her husband Jessie Buford Williams. Survivors include her loving daughters Becky Williams and Cheryl W. Savage, her husband Anthony Savage and their two children Ashley Armbruster, husband Stephen and Ross Savage all from Va. Beach. She had two precious great-grandchildren whom she cherished more than life itself Bryce (Sugar Pop) and Blake (Sweetie Pie) Armbruster. Shirley a graduate of Norview High School in Norfolk married the handsome Buford shortly after graduating. She enjoyed reading, working puzzles and could solve most crossword challenges with little effort. She enjoyed spending time with her family at many backyard picnics and always talked of her numerous trips to Walt Disney World with her extended family members. Her family Christmas parties were the highlight of everyone’s year where pollyanna gifts were exchanged and then promptly stolen by ‘loving and entertaining family members’. She also loved to fish where ever there was someone to unhook the catch. The true joy of her life though was the many years of tender care that Shirley and her daughter Becky gave to her two grandchildren and watching them grow into wonderful caring adults and their service of others. Shirley will be greatly missed at the all of the family events in the future and in our daily lives. A graveside service will be held 10AM on Friday, February 19, 2021, at Rosewood Memorial Park. All are welcome to attend and kindly remember to bring a mask to the service. A delayed outdoor Celebration of Shirley's life will occur later in the year.
