Thomas Robert Saunders, Sr., 87, passed away on August 11, 2012 in South Hill, Virginia. He was born on December 15, 1924 in Princess Anne County (Back Bay), Virginia the son of the late Eugene Thomas Saunders and Evelyn Elizabeth Henley Saunders. Tom was a retired plant manager for Coca Cola Associates. His favorite past time was playing golf and traveling. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara Ann Saunders. Tom will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Left to cherish his memory are his devoted children, Thomas Robert Saunders, Jr., (Debora) of Bracey, VA and Debra Jean Allen (Bruce) of Plant City, FL; brother, Harold M. Saunders of Creeds, VA; five grandchildren, Heather Parrish (Shane) of Richmond, VA, Kip Saunders (Thuy) of Boston, MA, Kelly Covert (Kel) of Baldwinsville, NY, Matthew Allen of Atlanta, GA and Emily Allen of Lakeland, FL; four great-grandchildren, Carson and Andrew Parrish and Ryan and Noah Covert and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 17, 2012 at 11:00 AM in Bruce Whitehurst Cemetery, 5509 Fitztown Road in Virginia Beach, (Creeds).
