Barbara Ann Hayes, a lifetime Porterville resident, died on Thursday, June 27 in Porterville at the age of 50. Born in Porterville on November 30, 1962 to the late George and Teresa Jackson, Barbara was a member of the Porterville Church of God and a graduate of the Chamber of Commerce Leadership Porterville Class of 1997. For 26 years, she was the Budget Analyst for the Burton School District, and in 2010 the Burton Business Complex was dedicated to Barbara for her courage, commitment, dedication, and passion. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend.
Barbara is survived by her husband James and sons Jay Yancy and Yz Hayes and daughter Jackie Yancy, all of Porterville. She is also survived by her sister Vernettie Manley (Wayne) of Porterville, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
A Celebration of Barbara's Life will be held on Wednesday, July 3 at 11 AM at the Porterville Church of God. Memorials in Barbara's name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2222 W. Shaw Ave., Fresno, CA 93711.
