From the Thomas Boyajian family: Healing thoughts to Carol's family.

Our deepest sympathies to the Vartanian family.  From the Boyajian family:  Ann Boyajian Dedmond; Margaret Olsen, John Boyajian, and Mike Boyajian.

Carol was a childhood friend of mine.  We went to Thomas McCarthy school (in Hanford) together. (Catholic school, uniforms, nuns and all !!)  We were together until our 8th grade graduation, when her family moved ‘all the way’ to Visalia. In those days it might as well have been the moon, because we never saw each other again, although we wrote letters for a while. We were happy little girls and I remember fun days together. Carol and I were pals, and her sister/twin Cathy was friends with Jill Raimondi. I remember we started out as the 4 of us, but then Cathy and Jill were more feisty and soon Carol  and I, being more quiet and reserved, would drift off to our own fun, I saw Carol from time to time, I would run into her over the decades, as well as Cathy, but we never seemed to connect. As I am reading the memories from others, I can see that my friend Carol was the same person even as a little girl. Always sweet and kind, quiet and fun and yes a beautiful smile. I remember the Vartanian family well, as my brother Kelly was friendly with David; Karen was our babysitter; I worked with Diane at Robert’s Jewelers  for years; even ran into Charlene years ago in Three Rivers; and who can forget your Aunt Rosemary Avedisian! (She still made me call her Aunt Rosemary, even though she wasn’t my aunt!) 
I am sad to learn of Carol’s passing.  I will always remember her as the young girl I knew.

I could share so much about Carol.  She was my neighbor my friend.  We shared a love for the natural beautiful things. Sunrises, sunsets, full moons and weather.  We would text each other pictures of such things.
She would watch my house for me when we were gone and even when we were home. She knew the names of each one of my kids and grandkids and if I ever had a prayer need she would pray for them diligently.  She would keep me informed of anything interesting happening in our area. And send me random facts about things that I would never have thought about.  My husband and her would have competitions to see who can pick up more leaves during the fall. She always gave Steve a thumbs up when he was out picking up leaves.  She loved keeping this part of our street and home tidy. 
Living on the corner of Myrtle and Divisadero will never be the same without her. I will miss her daily. But I am also jealous that she doesn’t have to live in this world that we call home at this time.  She has no more pain no more suffering no more worries. 
Some random things, she gave me the best can of tuna I ever had and I ended up ordering a case of it. If I ever had a sore throat she would show up with different types of throat lozenges. And she would give us fun things for the holidays like necklaces and glasses.  She came over after Christmas and we had a little toast to things we have been praying for.  She was definitely one of a kind and she will forever be missed by our family.   Steve and Laurie Kindy

Carol will be dearly missed by everyone that’s life has been touched by her.  I will miss all of  her texts with the most random facts about life, local events for my kids, and tax changes for the year.  She had pictures from years back she would send as memories we had shared.  Living on the East Coast, I could send  6 am texts with Carol, while she bemoaned the fact she was awake at 3 am and should be sleeping!! Every February she sent my kids the “Feb Enjoy Box” where she packed it with Winco’s bulk candies and an assortment of items kids would cherish as treasures. She had so much joy watching the video of the kids waiting and opening the box each year. She was funny, kind, and full of love.  She took such great care of those she adopted as family along with her friends. She never arrived empty handed, but always with something to share. She encouraged me to be the best mom I could be, despite its challenges. She loved her family dearly. She will be dearly missed by all who’s life she touched. No one can ever replace the love we had for Auntie Carol. Sending our condolences  to her siblings and family during this extremely sad time. Love,  Jennie and Lawrence Vanderham and all 4 kiddos. 

You’ll never find a kinder or more honest person than Carol was. Always there when you needed to talk or needed a shoulder to cry on. I miss her more than words can say and I still keep waiting for that text response! God called you home. I love you Carol 

We had the pleasure of working with Carol for multiple years when she was a manger in our accounting firm.   She was such a thoughtful and caring person - to all of us who she worked with, and the clients that she served.  At that time, most of us in the firm had younger children.  We encouraged our team to bring their children to work with them on Saturdays during "tax busy season"  (oh how the world has changed but back then we all worked in the office for at least 4 hours on Saturday).  All the kids were drawn to Carol and she to them.  She also was in-charge for any type of kid activities that were part of family firm outings. Our 3 kids, now all in their mid-30s, have such wonderful memories of their time spent with Carol.
We wish to express our condolences to all of Carol's siblings and extended family.   We recall that Carol was also very punctual, if not early, for any appointment. Oh how we wish she had been late for her appointment to travel to heaven.

Carol was my next neighbor for the last 13 years. She was the heart of our neighborhood. I have so  many  fond memories of Carol. She always made my boys and I feel important and special. She attended the boys sporting events, band performances and birthday parties. She was kind, funny and caring. I will miss our check in text messages, porch time catch ups and the amazing pictures she would send me.  I feel so blessed to have been her neighbor and friend for all these years. Myrtle Street will never be the same. We will miss her so much.

My buddy Carol will be deeply missed by all that knew her.  She was my friend for 20 years and our neighbor in Beverly Glen for 15 years during the “growing years” of our Ibblings. Her caring and interest in all their kid endeavors and really all of our activities was a blessing. Any time that we were preparing a special treat or had a funny story to tell, there was always a plan to “share with Carol.” We could brainstorm ideas, process life’s events, or plan our next adventure all while sitting under the lemon tree or at her table during a neighborly chat session. She celebrated with us and worried with us. I loved that Carol either already had a plan or could come up with a plan to  find a use for every object or even a person’s skills to feel useful. It was her talent to coordinate and facilitate the  “pay it forward” principle. She could hone in on what would make a person feel special, then through a seemingly small act make a positive impact. It is a true gift to be able to inspire others. All of us remembering Carol, I would guess, have been inspired by her in some way and her kind and funny soul will continue on through us. Thank you for everything, Carol! 💕

Carol was my next door neighbor, my friend, and my hero through my childhood and early adulthood. In that time she was there watching me growing up. She taught me more than words or memories could describe. She was there for every birthday, every Christmas, every goofy Easter, every July 11th to get slurpies from 7/11, she was there for every holiday, and we celebrated them all with joy! We’d cook together, ride bikes, go on hikes, garden, play with pets, drink lots of coffee, and mostly laugh. Carol was the funniest, and had the kindest soul. She lit up the room with her chuckle. She taught me how to cook, how to garden even if she had the worst green thumb. She taught me how to be confident, loving, and selfless. She was the most loving friend a little girl could have growing up. When I would get out of school early as a kid I’d go to her house and we’d plant carrots and grow cherry tomatoes. We eventually got tired of gardening, and I was interested in cooking at the time. I remember giggling in her kitchen while we attempted to make whole-made granola, or when she bought me 4 bags of coconuts to make cookies because I had told her I recently learned I liked macaroons. Every passion I had no matter how big or small she was right there to support and inspire me. 
We used to have a huge lemon tree across from her house. Every time I see a lemon tree I think about how Carol would adore it. Throughout my childhood we’d sit out on the patio and I’d help get lemons for her while we caught up. I wish I could go back and have one more conversation with her under the lemon tree. I can picture her now up in heaven sitting under a beautiful lemon tree in the sunlight. Carol and her wisdom  will always be with me in spirit, and I like to believe she’s gardening her heart out up there. 
I’ll love you forever Carol. 
 And PS: Don't forget to grow some watermelon for me, and watch the beautiful stars you loved

Dear Vartanian family,  this is Ila Kugler Benedict & my brother Ken Kugler. We have many fond memories from St. Mary’s &  RHS of Carol & Kathy from our High School years and Ken also attended Fresno State and became a CPA. When we saw the obit for your sister Carol, we were both so very sad & shocked to read this tragic news.😰 Please know that you & your family are in our prayers asking God to comfort all of you. We hope it helps knowing your beloved sister Carol is now at peace in heaven and may our Lord bring lots of sweet memories of precious family times spent together to help ease all your hurting hearts,🙏🏼💕 Your Carol will be deeply missed.

Carol’s sudden death leaves a great void in the lives of many. I got to meet her due to her strong relationship with her aunt Patricia with whom I lived at the time.
She had a caring, loving heart and kept up with all the happenings with the Sisters in Seattle. Somehow I suspect that Carol is now in a place where she can facilitate even more loving help.

Carol will be surely missed.  I (Mike Lopez) attended both COS and Fresno State with Carol.  We along with David Eddy were good friends.  We would go out for dinner and hang out when we could.  We were also study buddies.  The three of us became CPA's.   
I will pray for her soul and for comfort to her family.  May God Bless her soul.

Carol was such a kind and caring person.  She befriended my grandparents in the later years of their lives and she was such a delight to them.  I also had the honor of working with her and found her to be a wonderful mentor.  She was curious and loved learning about many things.  She loved the process of making things, canning, and harvesting.  She had the most wonderful sense of humor and she took delight in serving others.  My family and I are forever in her debt for the kindness and friendship she offered my family and grandparents.   

I'm very sad that Carol has passed away and I offer my sympathy and condolences to her family, friends, and cat, Topher. Carol was a good friend. She was warm and generous and had a great sense of humor. It seemed it was so easy for her to find humor in just about anything. She was curious about and interested in so many things - art, music, theater, poetry. She loved sharing recipes and weather reports. Her love and  affection for her many siblings was apparent. I am glad to have known her and I will miss her very much.
