April 2, 1947 - March 27, 2026
Creative, Devoted, Faithful, Humorous, Resilient.
Daniel Streeper was born in 1947 to Charles and Wanda Streeper in Exeter, California. He married the love of his life, Kathleen Lewis, in 1970. He is survived by his two sons, Nathaniel and Joshua, and two granddaughters, Celina and Jasmine.
Dan grew up and spent the majority of his life in Visalia, California. He learned to ride a bike on Howard Street, played with toy soldiers in his backyard on Laurel Street, and ran track and cross country at Mt. Whitney High School, from which he graduated in 1966.
He served in the army from 1966 to 1969. While stationed in Okinawa as the company clerk, he was the fastest typist on the island. Not to mention, he could do 100 push-ups in a row. If he weren’t color blind, he would have driven a tank.
Throughout his life, he worked as a police dispatcher, title officer, janitor, paperboy, and tanner. But he was never defined by his job. Outside of work, he enjoyed writing short stories, building model ships, tanks, and airplanes, camping in the Sierra Nevadas, having picnics at Mooney’s Grove, playing cards, board games, and frisbee, watching war documentaries, and reading history books and Uncle Scrooge comics.
Dan was generally rather private, but he was jovial, funny, and genuine to anyone he met. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family, and made it a practice to have “family weekends” involving games, picnics, or bike rides once a month.
God was always an important part of his life, and he attended church more often in his later years. As he grew older, he relied on Simon for rides in his Purple Van and Kristina for caregiving at home. He was loved by many. If you ever had a conversation with him, you know he would always end it with, “Bye, for now.”
Dan Streeper, you added life to the world. Bye, for now.
