David Milton Fleming

Dave was born in Little Rock, Arkansas on November 4, 1941, to Mildred (Wright) and James Fleming. He attended school there until he moved to Visalia in 1957. He graduated from Redwood High School, attended College of the Sequoias, Fresno City College and graduated from Fresno State University with a degree in business. He enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1961. He served as a jet mechanic at Edwards Air Force Base, as well as being stationed in Japan and Korea until 1965.

Dave met Judith Pine in high school and they married in 1964. They were married for 52 years. Dave and Judie were blessed with two children, Mark and Kevin. Dave spent his entire working career in the garment industry spending 23 years with Bayly Manufacturing Company in Visalia, Denver, CO and Waco, TX. In 1991, they moved to Hong Kong where Dave was employed with Odyssey International. In 1993 another move took them to Bangkok, Thailand, where he was associated with Triumph International. They remained there for 13 years and Dave became executive director of the operations in Thailand. He enjoyed the many beautiful golf courses there and the opportunity to visit other countries. They traveled to Burma (Myanmar), Laos, China, Cambodia, Australia and Vietnam, as well as exploring many areas in rural Thailand.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf, Dixieland jazz and had his private pilot's license. He especially enjoyed spending time with his hunting dog. Dave retired in 2006, and he and Judie moved back to Visalia.

David is survived by his wife Judith Fleming, sons Mark (Marti) and Kevin Fleming, brother Larry Fleming of Louisiana, grandchildren Devin and Makayla Fleming, brother in-law Bill Pine; and many dear family members and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Christ Lutheran Church, 3830 W. Tulare Ave., Visalia. Remembrances in lieu of flowers may be sent to the Sequoia Riverlands Trust (www.sequoiariverlands.org).
