Debbie’s memory lives on through her husband of 50 years, Richard Holt, children Ashley and Vince Medina, Santiago and Michelle Benitez, grandchildren Isaiah Benitez, Danielle Benitez, Brooklyn McDonald, Vincent Medina, and Makenna Medina, siblings Linda Glenn, Beverly Keeling, Terry Johnston, Gail Head, Robert Withnell, Tommy Withnell, nieces, nephews, and countless friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Margaret Withnell, sister Darlene Roach, and daughter Mindy Benitez.
Debbie spent her entire life in the Central Valley, graduating from Exeter High School in 1973 where she met her husband and married in 1974, later moving to Lindsay where they lived for 40 years and raised their two daughters. She most recently resided in Visalia.
Debbie was known for many things: her radiant smile, some amazing dishes and desserts, and most notably, how well she loved her people. A selfless wife and mother, she found her true calling as Nana in 2003 when her first grandson was born. Some of her favorite things were coast trips, shopping, and spoiling her grandchildren.
Debbie worked for Walmart Transportation for over 25 years where she made many lifelong friends. She enjoyed spending her free time serving her family and others in her community as she helped found and lead the Porterville Chapter of Helping One Woman for 5 years.
While Debbie lived her entire life with faith, she renewed her relationship with Jesus in recent years, and was baptized on November 20, 2022. She left this world knowing Jesus and looking forward to her eternal life and reunion with her oldest daughter, Mindy.
A memorial will be held on Saturday, December 28 at Miller Memorial Chapel in Visalia. Viewing begins at 8:30am with service at 9:00am. Burial will follow at Visalia Public Cemetery at 10:30am.
