Doris departed this life much as she lived it - gently. Her beloved husband, Pat, preceded her in death in 1994. She is survived by their loving daughter, Melina Henry, and two precious granddaughters, Chloe Rose Hosick and Karlie Marie Hosick.
Doris lived in Visalia from early childhood, graduating from Visalia Union High School in 1943. She referred to the Fox Theater as her "home away from home" during the years she worked there before her marriage. As a homemaker and mother, she lived first in Visalia, then in Tulare when her husband's occupation took them there.
As a widow, Doris returned to Visalia, living independently and with Melina until her health declined and she required nursing care. Throughout her life she loved music, collecting records from her high school days on. She was also fond of telling stories and jokes and willing to listen to others.
