Ellis “Ed” Ray was born on May 13, 1914 in Visalia, CA to James A. & Edith M. Ray. He passed away on January 13, 2011 in Visalia, CA at the age of 96 years.
Ed was raised and educated in Visalia. He married Ida A. Jaeger on September 28, 1940 in Visalia. He entered the service in July 1942 serving in WWII in both the European and African campaigns. Ed was employed by Southern California Edison Company for 39 years retiring in 1975. He was a long time member of Grace Lutheran Church, Visalia.
Ed is survived by his two children, Edward R. Ray and Pamela J. Williams and husband, Robert, of Visalia; grandson Geoffrey S. Williams and wife Melissa of San Tan Valley, AZ; one brother, Ken Ray of Visalia and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by both his parents, 3 brothers and 2 sisters, and his wife, Ida J. Ray.
Graveside services will be held at the Visalia District Cemetery on Wednesday, January 19th, 11:00 a.m. with visitation at Miller Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, 2-7 p.m.
