Ethel Robson (Thorburn) Dressel was born in Bridgewater, Vermont on November 29, 1920 to John and Lucy Thorburn. She moved to California in 1963 and settled in Visalia in 1973. She departed this life on January 1, 2015 at the age of 94 and was preceded in death by her parents John and Lucy Thorburn and both her siblings Katherine Thorburn Digby and Charles Frederick Thorburn and her husband Roy Ray Dressel. Ethel is a retired Mt. Whitney High School janitor.
She is survived by her son Roy and his wife Javonna of Fresno; grandson Ray and his wife Brooke of Fresno, grandson Daniel; grandson Jonathan and fiancee Rebecca of Farmersville; as well as seven great-grandchildren; niece Beverly Thorburn-Buck of Massachusetts; nephews Ed Thorburn of Vermont and John Digby of California.
Services will be held at the Miller Memorial Chapel 1120 W. Goshen in Visalia on Sunday January 11, 2015 at 2pm.
