Frank Lara Cadena was born on October 14, 1918 in East Los Angeles, before there was an East L.A. (this was the time of dirt roads, horse drawn buggies, and big-rimmed bicycles). He passed away peacefully on November 14, 2013 with his beloved daughter Linda by his side. Frank was married to Flora for 63 years (he married her when he was 32 yrs old; he enjoyed his single life being a musician, and when he saw Flora at the Maya Theatre in Dinuba, his single days were over within six months). He worked at Kal-Can Foods in Sunnyvale, as a cannery supervisor for 25 years, other jobs throughout his life included field work, heavy equipment operator, and casino trip coordinator (Flora’s Gambling Tours). Frank lived a long, happy life and enjoyed dancing, drinking, and gambling. He and Flora were regulars at the casinos. He and Flora also took great pleasure in traveling with their daughter Linda on her business trips and would be seen at all festivals, parties, dances, parades – the three of them were inseparable, always together everywhere. Frank enjoyed working on his “ranch” in East Orosi with his trusty scooter and doing his word search puzzles in the sun. He was always smiling and truly lived a wonderful life. He will be sorely missed, thanks for the memories Pancho! Frank is survived by his wife Flora, daughter Linda and husband Saul Solis, grandchildren Aleesha and Frank Herrera (Franky was named after him), his beloved brother, Willie Cadena - age 92 (who he saw every morning to start the day with spiked coffee and newspaper reviews), his admired nephew Jesse, Lola, J.J. and Jayson Cadena, and neice Margaret and Joe Lopez and family, nephew Robert and Mary Cadena and family, neice Alice Cadena and the rest of the “Chain (Cadena) Gang”.
