Dear Family,
Another year passed.. Everytime we see Pasadena Rose Parade we see your beautiful Freisen Horses and antique stage coaches and buggies! May Uncle Frank rest in peace and the continued parade of Freisen Horses educate today’s youth of the beauty of Dutch history and horses that you begun in America years ago!  We are sorry we never attended a parade but watched on TV on New Years Day!  Some day we may attend parade in person! May you rest in peace with lovely Aunt Adrianna who was the kindest person we met in our early years 1960!

Dear Cousins,
So sorry to hear of second parent, Uncle Frank passing when Auntie Adrianna was just recently put to rest. Uncle Frank really  enjoyed his Friesian horses and so glad he could have this wonderful hobby and share the joy with so many people. We always wanted to attend  Rose Parade but never did but would look/watch them on New Years parade on TV  and remember all the famous people that rode in the carriage, especially Ms. Jane Goodall , who saved the African monkeys! The Friesian horses were beautiful. We remember Uncle Frank got us a white horse;  Christmas 1966 to help round up cows during milking hours.  We lived on the Dinuba dairy on Road 64 and Ave382. Milking 800 cows and now having a horse was a nice gift! 
With 11 children, taking turns riding the horse was a real treat. Usually, we rode bareback and it was just like the Wild West! 1967 unfortunately, we all left/ moved to  Holland and the John and Jake Kesting Brothers  inherited the beautiful white horse and  dairy! We truly felt sad to leave so much behind but remember how Uncle Frank made our Christmas 1966 special. Our condolences and may memories ease your sorrow and keep the Uncle Frank’s adventurous spirit alive. We hope to see many more Friesian  horses and watch Pasadena Rose Parades!

Dear Leyendekker family, 
On behalf of the Tjitze (Ted) and Betty Bouma family, please accept our deepest condolences in the loss of Frank.  Our father had very fond memories of his time with your family in California in 1959 when he came over from Friesland to work on the dairy.  May the Lord of all comfort give you his comfort and peace in this time of loss also as it comes so soon after the loss of Adrianna.

Dearest Leyendekker family. Your loss is felt deeply here in Ohio. 
Frank was such a gift to the horse world. I had the privilege of having 2 of his horses. 
Last stopped in to visit Frank 6 years ago. He joyously gave me a tour on his UTV of the farm and carriage collection. His personality was truly infectious. 

He was one in a million and touched so many.

My husband and I met Mr. & Mrs. Leyendekker in January 2017 while in California for our anniversary.  We own Renaissance Friesians Inc where we breed friesians. We were in his neck of the woods and  I really wanted to meet him in person.  He took us on a tour of his farm, showing us his carriage collection, friesians, trophies, and sharing his life stories in the friesian world.  He was very kind & honest man. I will always charish that memory.

Frank is survived by his children Catharina (Ben) Veenendaal, Gerben (Pauline) Leyendekker, Nickolas (Cheryl) Leyendekker, Nonning (Diana) Leyendekker, Edward (Tosha) Leyendekker, Ena (Jon) Bushnell, Hendrik (Geri) Leyendekker, Art (Michelle) Leyendekker. He had 29 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren.
