What an outstanding individual in so many ways! My family has enjoyed the fine dining and beautiful ambience on many occasions since Vintage Press opened decades ago. He has left a wonderful legacy for his children to cherish and for the dining public to enjoy. Thank you, John. Rest In Peace.

In so many ways John Vartanian and the Vintage Press were the heart and essence of what made Visalia the beautiful, charming town that it is.

I've had the pleasure of experiencing Vartanian family hospitality since the early 1970s. Although I've lived in Fresno/Clovis, the Vintage Press was where we went -- and still do -- for the special occasions, including a night in a Visalia so we could enjoy some fine wine without worry. I remember John and Arlene from the front of the house: always gracious. I became acquainted with Greg and David in my days as food and wine editor at The Fresno Bee. In more recent years, we have continued to visit when we could, especially for birthdays, anniversaries and the like. Special occasions call for special care from special people. We always feel the warmth that must be baked into every Vartanian and the attention to detail that makes each visit memorable. While I grieve John's loss, I'm comforted by sweet memories and the certainty that more memories will be made with his offspring.

We wish the entire Vartanian family our sincere condolences.

John was a character and such a nice person. We remember sharing a nip with him from his mobile bar at the St Patrick’s day parade.

We miss him. Love Graham and Brenda Allan and our staff at Visalia Harley-Davidson.

Our sincere condolences on the loss of your father and patriarch. I remember my dad (Doyle Ritchie) taking us 4 kids in the evening to Plaza park to play tennis with the Vartanians, what a surprise when your dad drove up in a station wagon and out poured maybe 10 of you kids! Like you, we feel like we grew up spending special occasions and many delicious meals at the "VP" .
Our thoughts and prayers for John and your family during this time.
May your legacy continue!

To the Vartanian Family, I am so very sorry for your loss. John was a person I well admired since I was his Health Inspector for several years. It was always a pleasure to visit with him during inspections. I started doing inspections at the Vintage Press in 1994 and also during when the working of the preparation of his other ventures. I had my retirement dinner at the Vintage Press on March 16, 2007 and it was fabulous and well done. It is with a heavy heartfelt sadness that John has passed. I always remembered Arlene when she greeted at the door, and I have met a lot of the family and I send my regards and condolences to the family. May John RIP. Prayers for the family🌹🌹🙏🏻🙏🏻
