

LeAnn Denise Morris, 49, passed away on January 11, 2015. She was born on May 21, 1965 in Hanford, California. She moved to Washington State when she was 2 months old and settled back in California at the age of 9. She attended Maple Melody, Yettem School, Occupational Training Program (OTP), and Creative Center. She graduated from OTP at the age of 22. As a youth, LeAnn enjoyed riding bikes, collecting things, working on puzzles, listening to music, and spending time with her family. LeAnn enjoyed family vacations to the beach where she’d sit in the sand for hours filling her sand bucket and collecting shells. LeAnn competed in the 1984 Special Olympics as a distance runner but slowed her pace to chat with her friends during the competition. She was thrilled to cross the finish line and receive her medal. She lived at home with her parents until the age of 30. She was known for her vibrant, happy smile and her fun loving personality. She resided in Terra Bella at the Melendez Family Home for the past 8 years under the care of Jose Melendez and his wonderful staff. LeAnn is survived by her mother, Betty Morris, sister, Victoria and her husband Michael Bockman, brother, David Morris and his wife Trish. Her sister Tonya Morris Westcott, passed away in 2003, her father Dean Morris, passed away in 2009, and her grandmother, Reta Wafford passed away in 2013. LeAnn has 3 nieces, Elizabeth, Emma, and Codilynn and 5 nephews, Justin, Evan, Dolan, Sebastian, and Maverick. She has many uncles, aunts, and cousins. LeAnn will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Graveside Services will be Friday, January 23rd, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the Visalia Cemetery.
