

Mike Olivas entered into eternal life on September 5, 2015 at the age of 71. He was born to Jessie and Max Olivas on July 5, 1944 in Reedley, CA. He attended schools in Orosi, Yettem and later attended Redwood High School, graduating in 1963. After graduation he worked at various jobs including fieldworker, night custodian at Cutler grammar school, an orderly at Sequioa, Rex bottling Co. and finally working for 40 years at Visalia Lumber Co.
Mike loved fishing for salmon, hunting for dove, quail and pheasant. Mike leaves behind his devoted wife of 51 years Dolores Olivas, son; Michael his wife Alice Olivas, daughter Angela her husband Martin Munoz, Alexandria her companion Mike Phillips, sisters Delfina Chavez of Fresno, Tommie Herrera of Cutler and brothers Max Olivas of New York, Robert Olivas of Dinuba, his grandchildren; Max his wife Ashley Olivas, Samantha Olivas, Hunter Phillips and Holland Phillips, his great grandchildren, Emalina, Elodia and Evette Olivas. He loved his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren; he would do anything for them. He also loved his nieces and nephews. Not to forget his Visalia Lumber family and all the friends he met at his home away from home.
The Rosary will be Thursday, September 10, 2015 at Miller Memorial Chapel at 6:00pm, Mass of Christian burial will be Friday, September 11, 2015 at Holy Family Church at 10:00am.
