Nicolasa Negrete Negrete Villegas

Nicolasa was born on December 6, 1920 in Visalia, Ca. to Salvador and Ramona Negrete. She married John Villegas on November 22, 1938 in Visalia, California and they celebrated 74 years of marriage. Nicolasa loved her work as a Licensed Vocational Nurse at Kaweah Delta District Hospital on the Maternity Floor. She retired in December 1985 after 33 years of devoted service to her profession. Nicolasa volunteered with the Good News Center for many years serving others. Times spent with her family were precious to her and she especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved to garden, sew, cook, bake and make salsa for her family and friends.

Nicolasa was preceded in death by her parents, Salvador and Ramona Negrete, four brothers and two sisters and by her two beloved daughters, Mary Lee Martinez and Ellen Lopez.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband, John Villegas of Visalia; her loving daughter, Sally Diaz and husband Daniel of Porterville, CA; nine grandchildren; forty eight great grandchildren, four brothers; three sisters and her extended family and friends.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Gerges and the nursing staff at Kaweah Delta Medical Center for their kindness and dedication through this difficult time.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 16, 2012 from 3 – 6 p.m. with evening services to follow at Miller Memorial Chapel, 1120 W. Goshen Avenue in Visalia, CA. Graveside services will follow on Monday, September 17, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Visalia District Cemetery, 1300 W. Goshen Avenue in Visalia, CA.
