Rebecca Ann Roberts

Rebecca was born in Stockton, California on August 15, 1968 to Thomas and Patricia Whitney. Her family moved to Hanford when Rebecca was five. She attended schools in Hanford and graduated with the Class of 86 from Hanford High School. Rebecca continued her education at College of Sequoias where she received her Associates Degree in Business. She then received her Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Studies from Fresno Pacific in 2006. Throughout her career, she worked for the Fresno County Department of Education for two years and then transferred to Tulare County Department of Education and she was the Medical Library Assistant at Kaweah Delta Hospital for six years. Rebecca eventually pursued her dream of becoming a school teacher. She taught middle school and high school English for various school districts. On November 13, 1999, Rebecca married Ronnie Dean Roberts in Tulare, California. They have made their home in Visalia. Rebecca most enjoyed times spent with her husband, children and family. Her hobbies included camping, going to the coast, fishing, cooking, cross stitch and she was an avid Washington Redskins fan. Rebecca spent many hours with the Boy Scouts of America which she dearly loved doing. Rebecca will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband, Ronnie of Visalia; her father, Thomas Whitney and wife Andaleen of San Jose, CA, two sons Joshua D. Roberts and Michael P. Roberts, both of Visalia; step-daughter, Christina Roberts-Catapano and husband, Vincent of Visalia; her uncle Robert Ferris of Hanford and a host of extended family and friends.

Rebecca was preceded in death by her mother, Patricia in 2013.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 from 5 – 8 p.m. at Miller Memorial Chapel, 1120 W. Goshen Avenue in Visalia. Services will follow on Thursday, September 3, 2015 at 10 a.m. at Miller Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at Smith Mountain Cemetery in Dinuba.
