Richard Morgan Brown passed away on January 18, 2012 at the age of 80. He was born on September 28, 1931 in Chicago, IL to Edward and Inez Brown. He was the eldest son of four children. After serving in the U.S. Navy, he attended Pierce Junior College and UCLA for undergraduate studies, followed by the USC School of Law. He began his law practice in Los Angeles, and moved to Visalia in 1978 to become a VP of Kamco (a subsidiary of the Knudsen Corporation). Later in life he continued to offer his legal services to senior citizens through Tulare-Kings County Aging Services. Aside from his professional life as an attorney and a CPA, he enjoyed music, fishing, traveling, the Chicago Cubs, the Chicago Bears, and indulging in life with his family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife Valeria, his son Paul Brown, his daughter Alisa Shaffer, his daughter Karen Fontana, and their spouses Lisa, Scott, and Vincent respectively. He is also survived by all three of his siblings and their spouses: Sue & Jim Woodworth, Merry & Bob Shepler, and James & Karen Brown, as well as his numerous nieces and nephews. But perhaps his greatest joy came from his 9 grandchildren: Morgan Brown, Mitchell Brown, Devyn Brown, Ben Madison, Clint Madison, Sam Madison, Allison Enos, Julie Enos, and Stella Fontana.
In life he was a strong, intelligent and compassionate man who demonstrated the simple acts of charity and love for all living beings. He will be greatly missed. Services will be held on Friday, January 27, 2012 at 12:00pm at Miller Memorial Chapel.
