Richard Wayne “Rick” Call went to be with the Lord on June 15th, 2021, at the age of 64. Born October 05th, 1956 to Shirley Champion and Bill Call, he was raised and spent his life here in the Central Valley. After enlisting and serving in the Army as an infantryman, he returned to the valley where he attended College of the Sequoias & earned his AA degree. He married his childhood sweetheart Pamella “Pam” Neal in 1978. They settled in Goshen California, purchased a home, and shared two children, a son Brenson and a daughter Breanna, while also raising a nephew, Josh. Rick worked for Van Cleve Construction Co. for 9 years. He served as a youth leader at Goshen Church of God alongside his mentor and dear friend Pastor Emzy Cope. He earned his CDL, helped transport youth on the church bus & spent the rest of his career driving truck for over 30 years, retiring from KLX Trucking Co. due to disability.
Rick will be remembered for his tremendous sense of humor, authenticity, and unwavering faith in God. He was gifted with a profound ability to understand and recite biblical text. He led people to Jesus on city buses and from hospital beds. He never knew a stranger and could provoke even the most cantankerous person to smile. He was a lover of movies, classic rock music and his dogs. Rick was content with little and always grateful. He was truly one of a kind. There will always be a great void in the absence of his presence.
Rick was preceded in death by his son Brenson, Mother Shirley, Father Bill, Nephews Roger and Michael, Mother-in-Law Olive, Father-in-Law Roger Sr, Sister’s in Law Krystal & Lynn. He leaves behind his wife of 43 years Pam, daughter Breanna, son in law Paul, 3 grandchildren, Hannah, Layney and Levi, Nephew Josh, niece Holly (& Jacob) Friend & Brother-in-Law, Roger Jr (Wife Melissa), sister Rita, Sister-in-law Gloria (Husband Milton) and several other nieces and nephews.
To honor Richard’s request, there will be no services held for him. He will be brought home and placed beside his son Brenson, as he wished.
