Richard was born on July 13, 1983 in Visalia, California to Estela De la Cruz and Ricardo Vidales. He attended Golden West High School and graduated in 2001. Jr., better known to his brothers and sister as the “Cookie Monster”, not only loved chocolate but loved to pray, play and just made the best of life. His greatest happiness was the simple things in life – chocolate, music, and family. Jr. was a kind and gentle soul, very unique in his giving spirit. He was a young man with strong Catholic faith who took all of life’s challenges with a smile. He treated his family and everyone he met with love and respect. He always showed pure and unconditional love to his family, especially his mother who was also his dedicated caretaker. One of his greatest joys was to see his mom happy and he cherished their time together. Richard was a loving and dedicated son, brother, cousin, nephew, and grandson. He loved his family very much. Though we mourn his absence, he will always remain alive in our hearts and memories. His quiet suffering from all of physical ailments and limitations and his genuine and tender soul touched many lives in his short young life.
Richard is survived by his mother, Estela Vidales; his father, Ricardo Vidales; his sister, Rocio Rodriguez, his brothers, Juan Luis Vidales and Carlos Vidales; his grandparents, Juan and Maria De La Cruz; his grandmother, Sara Aguilar; numerous cousins, uncles and aunts.
We were blessed to have him in our lives.
