Roberta "Robin" Jeanine Spencer, a resident of Yokuts Valley, California, passed away on December 15, 2025, at the age of 66. Born on October 6, 1959, in Exeter, California, Robin was known for her generous, humorous, kind-hearted, and thoughtful nature. Her bubbly and friendly personality, combined with her love for animals, left a lasting impact on everyone she met.
Robin spent her childhood in Three Rivers, California, on a ranch where she developed a passion for horses and horseback riding. Later, she lived by the river and spent her teenage years in Woodlake, where she graduated from high school. After marrying her beloved husband, Daniel R. Spencer, in 1980, she settled in Squaw Valley to raise her family.
Robin met Daniel in 1978 while working at Green Acres airport. Together, they built their forever home in Squaw Valley, where they welcomed their daughters, Jennifer Pugh and Kimberly Spencer, and their chosen adopted daughter, Jody Blyleven. Robin was a proud grandmother to three grandchildren: Evan Pugh, Dean Moore, and Emily Babishoff. She was the youngest child of George and Lucille Miller and had six siblings: Jerry Miller, Patty Contreras, Debby Michaels, Bill Miller, and Jim Miller.
Her career began in her late teens at Jostens Yearbook company in Visalia, followed by a position as a flagger for Kaweah Crop dusting at Green Acres airport. Robin later became a licensed nail technician, a profession she enjoyed throughout the 1990s. In addition to her professional endeavors, she was a dedicated stay-at-home mom, actively participating in school activities such as fairs and field trips. Her passion for community service led her to volunteer at Bear Mt. Library, eventually expanding into a career at Fresno county libraries.
Robin's love for animals, especially horses and cats, was evident in her efforts to rescue many of them. She cherished horseback riding, mountain living, and walks around her property. Her favorite vacation spot was Morro Bay, and she loved visiting Kings Canyon and Sequoia national parks. Robin enjoyed classic rock music, the movie "Guardians of the Galaxy," and the show "King of the Hill." In recent years, she found joy in coloring and coloring books.
Robin was actively involved in her community, organizing and leading aerobics and clog dancing classes for senior citizens in the 1990s. Her dedication to the Bear Mt. Library included serving as head of the library board for two years, where she organized the library's yearly community yard sale.
A Celebration of Life will be held on January 9, 2026, from 11:00 am at Miller Memorial Chapel, located at 1120 West Goshen Ave, Visalia, CA 93291.
