Ruben Manuel "Bro" Hernandez Jr.

Ruben “Bro” Manuel Hernandez, Jr., 49, of Visalia, California passed away on Monday, July 29, 2013 in Visalia, California.

Ruben was born in Visalia to loving parents, Ruben and Armida Hernandez on September 4, 1963. He was raised and educated in Visalia, graduating from Redwood High School in 1980. Ruben played defensive lineman for four years for the Rangers, receiving many awards. He attended COS briefly and then later attended San Joaquin Valley College. Ruben enjoyed handyman work and catering with his brother-in-law, Fred. He loved going camping and listening to music by the fire. The family home in Mexico was his favorite place to go and he spent many hours cooking for everyone and loved hanging out with his family and friends. Ruben had a great sense of humor and enjoyed teasing everyone, the more he teased you, the more he loved you. His greatest enjoyment was his nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews whom he considered to be his own children and they all loved him unconditionally. Ruben had a heart of gold and loved to do for others, no matter what the need may be. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Ruben leaves to cherish his memory, his loving parents, Ruben and Armida of Visalia; four loving sisters, Norma Prieto and husband, Fred, Lori Walton, Michelle Lazcano and husband, Paco, and Jeanette Renteria and husband, Danny, all of Visalia; nieces and nephews, Freddy, Allison Brianna, Jillian, Madeline, Cristian, Cameron, Coco, Jax, Mia and Julian and great nieces and nephews, Bobby, Mikey, Baby Freddy, Baby Julian and Audrey and many, many friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 2, 2013 from 9 – 11 a.m. at Miller Memorial Chapel, 1120 W. Goshen Avenue in Visalia. Funeral services will follow immediately at 11 a.m. at Miller Memorial Chapel with burial following at Visalia District Cemetery, 1300 W. Goshen Avenue, Visalia, CA
