Russell "Gene" Eugene Gott

Gene was born in Visalia, California on March 6, 1945 to Lenoir “LD” and Viola Margaret Gott. He was raised and educated in Ivanhoe and Lindsay. Gene worked for Nichols Farms in Hanford for over 27 years, retiring in April 2014. He met Rosie Lee Aldridge Dugan in 1975 and they married in 1982. He was a hardworking and special man who enjoyed life, helping others and the outdoors. His hobbies included metal detecting, camping, fishing, family gatherings, watching TV, working on cars and sleeping.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents, LD and Viola; an infant brother, Lewis Wayne Gott; two nephews and a niece; and his dogs, Lollipopp and Einstein.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 34 years, Rosie D. Gott of Tulare; his children, Eugenia Gott Mangol, Julia Todd and husband Marty, and Daniel Gott, all of Missouri; his stepson, Darrin P. Dugan and wife Kera of Tulare; his brothers, Robert Gott and wife Gertie of Oregon and Edward Gott and wife Sandy of Alabama; his sister, Annita Fortner and husband Frank of Visalia; 14 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; his first wife, Ida Stracener Gott, the mother of his three children Eugenia, Julia and Daniel; and his dog Jake who is missing his daddy dearly.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Peers Lorentzen Funeral Home, 132 W. Kern Ave, Tulare.

Funeral services will be on Thursday, June 9, 2016 at 9:00 am at New Life Community Church, 1820 N. Gem St, Tulare. Burial will follow at North Tulare Cemetery.
