Walter was born on November 26, 1952 in Morrilton, Arkansas to Jimmie Lou Howell and Walter William Grable. Walter grew up helping take care of his siblings. He is the third of ten children. He worked at Dickey Mayflower in Lemoore for twenty plus years. Then he became a Supervisor of a washing crew for a charter company until he could no longer work due to health reasons.
Walter was married to “Dear”, this was his nickname for her, Vikki Hope Grable. They married May 19, 1972 n they had four children.
He is preceded in death by his wife Vikki Grable and their son Brian Grable, his mom Jimmie Howell, father Walter Grable, sisters Arelia Grable, Aline Edmondson, Joyce Goldsmith, his brothers Bobby Jennings, Cleveland Grable, William Grable, and Andy Grable.
Walter is survived by his daughter Cynthia Grable and Amanda Grable, his son Walter Grable Jr, his twelve grandchildren and his six great-grandchildren, two siblings brother Bobby Russell, and sister Wanda Le.
Walter loved sports. His baseball team was the Atlanta Braves, his football team was Raiders and Cowboys. He grew up watching professional wrestling that he passed on the love to his kids and grandkids. He was a collectomaniac. He would collect and save everything. Funny story, he was bringing my sister home from work on an over pass, and seen a tool in the road. He pulled over and made my sister get out to get it, she lost her balance n started rolling down the road. He’d drive around in a cushman scooter with his granddaughter Veronica, picking up bottles and cans. His grandkids Christofer, Jacob, BriAna, Brayden, and Baeleigh all took care of him. He loved them a lot. He loved all four of his children.
Will be having a potluck as soon as I get him home with me. More details to come.
