

Ysidro Navarrette Duran Jr., of Clovis, CA, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on November 30, 2025, at the age of 81. He was a cherished member of his family and community, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and laughter.
Born on October 22, 1944, in Carlsbad, New Mexico, Ysidro was the fourth of ten children born to Ysidro and Theresa. He grew up surrounded by his siblings: Helen Nochella, Rito Duran, Gloria Baiza, Emma Lara, Selso Duran, Velia Carrasco, Concepcion “Concha” Duran, Danny Duran, and Virgil Gonzalez. He was preceded in death by his brothers Rito and Danny.
Ysidro married the love of his life, Olivia, and together they shared 59 years of unwavering love and companionship. Their bond was strong and enduring, and together they built a beautiful life and family. He was a devoted father to Ysidro Duran III, Georgina Marie Duran (who preceded him in death), Mia Duran Castillo (Martin), and Rita Duran-Fujii (Raymond). He was a proud and loving grandfather to Matias Castillo, Micaela Castillo, Liliana Duran, Lucia Duran, Javier Fujii, and Sydney “Syd” Fujii, and a father figure to Robert Barrick (Mishal), who held a special place in his heart.
Ysidro served honorably in the United States Army, and after his service, he spent 35 years working at Lockheed Missiles and Space. Upon retiring, he returned to the Central Valley, where he embraced the simple joys of life—especially spending time with his family. A master in the kitchen, Ysidro was known for his incredible cooking skills, particularly his world-famous menudo, a recipe he perfected over many years. Whether tinkering around the house, cooking for family gatherings, or helping wherever he was needed, he was always working on a project and found joy in making life better for the people he loved.
Ysidro’s legacy will carry on in the hearts of his wife, children, grandchildren, siblings, extended family, and all who were fortunate enough to know him. His warmth, humor, and unwavering devotion to his family will never be forgotten.
He will be deeply missed but forever remembered.

Sunday, December 21, 2025: Viewing starts at 3:00PM with rosary vigil starting at 6:00PM at Miller Memorial Chapel, 1120 West Goshen Avenue, Visalia, CA 93291.
A funeral mass will be held Monday, December 22, 2025, at 10:00AM, at St Mary’s Catholic Church, 608 North Church Street, Visalia, CA 93291. Reception to be held following mass.
