

Betty was born in Camden, SC but resided in West Columbia on Decatur Street since 1957 Betty was employed by Jeff Hunt Macheniery, Wickes Lumber, and First Baptist Church of Columbia as a bookkeeper and financial secretary. She volunteered many hours at Lexington Medical Center. She was a long-term member of Holland Ave. Baptist Church and Trinity Baptist Church and helped in the church's childcare programs.
Betty, with the help of her husband Bill, was an avid gardener. They were well known for his yard full of beautiful azaleas and were awarded the Cayce-West Columbia Yard of the Month numerous times. Betty's carrot cake and red velvet cake were a favorite of her friends and family. She loved watching the birds in her yard, shopping, and bright-eyed babies.
Betty is survived by her sons, Todd Jeffcoat and his wife Desiree of Brooklyn, NY, and Jason Jeffcoat and his wife Alicia of Irmo, SC; her three grandchildren, Nicholas, William and Kathleen. Betty was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, William Jeffcoat, and four brothers and two sisters: Albert Kelly, J.T. Kelly, Heyward Kelly, Collis Kelly, Eloise Grant, and Ethel Lee Sox.
Visitation will be held Saturday, January 17, 2026 at Southland Memorial Gardens - Chapel of Hope, 700 West Dunbar Road, West Columbia, SC 29170 at 10:30, with service to follow at 11:30.
