Bobby P Lucas

CAYCE – Funeral services for Bobby Patrick Lucas, 84, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, West Columbia Chapel with interment in Oak Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, November 18, 2013 at the funeral home. The Rev. Bruce Rucker will conduct the services. Bobby was born on July 4, 1929 in Swansea, SC to the late Thomas Wannamaker Lucas and Leola DeBerry Lucas. Mr. Lucas was a graduate of Swansea High School and began a path of hard work, something he did well. In 1969 Mr. Lucas established Lucas Septic Tank and Utility Service, a family business that has proudly served the Midlands area for over 40 years. Mr. Lucas was a proud free mason of Lexington Lodge 152 as well as an avid farmer. He also enjoyed dancing competitions which he performed quite well. Bobby will be remembered as a hard working outgoing man who made an impression on everyone he encountered throughout his lifetime.

Surviving are his devoted and loving wife of 55 years, Sue K. Lucas; son, Joe (Linda) Grooms Jr. of Charlotte, NC daughter, Peggy Northcutt of Cayce, SC; grandson, Bodie (Tracy) Yarborough of Swansea, SC; granddaughter, Kelli (Corey) McBride of Mt. Washington, KY; grandson, Joseph “J.R” Grooms III of Charlotte, NC; great-grandchildren, David Yenny, Lexie Yarborough, Lauren, Kimberlin and Briley McBride; sister, Virginia Williamson of Cayce, SC and brother, Thomas Lucas of Newbern, NC. He was predeceased by many beloved family and dear friends. The family will receive family and friends after the service at the home of Bodie and Tracy Yarborough, 464 Davis Pond Road, Swansea, SC 29160.
