Curtis R. Mellette, 76, of Lexington, SC passed away on December 24, 2024. He was born on November 12, 1948, and resided in Gaston, SC until relocating to the Red Bank area of Lexington County with his wife, Sheila Sanchez-Mellette.
He worked for over 30 years for Carolina Eastman. After retiring from Carolina Eastman, he worked for Walmart and the Lexington County Solid Waste Division. He was a strong-willed man and fought through all of life's hardships until the very end. He loved horses, westerns, bluegrass music, and his dog, Pickles.
He is survived by his wife, his daughter, Michelle Mellette Onley, and his son, Rusell Mellette; his grandchildren, Cody Frye, Jasmine Cibrian (Zeke), Chance Onley, and Tatum Mellette.
He was predeceased by his parents, and wife, Sherrill Morgan Mellette.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on December 28, 2024, at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, West Columbia Chapel, 820 West Dunbar Road, West Columbia, SC 29170. A visitation will be held Saturday, December 28, 2024, from 1:00-1:45 pm at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, West Columbia Chapel. Interment will follow the service at Southland Memorial Gardens,
