GASTON – A private service with Military Honors for Edwin James Russell, III, 68, will be held in the Chapel of Hope at Southland Memorial Gardens. Honorary Pallbearers will be Alexander Russell, Caleb Stanley, Evan Golden, Parker Golden, David Schadle and Freddie Hanna. Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, West Columbia Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
Mr. Russell a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Gaston, SC passed away on Friday, December 23, 2011. He was a son of Marie Bravo Gibson. He served his country in the United States Armed Forces.
Mr. Russell is survived by his wife of forty-nine years and ten months, Mary Howerton Russell; daughters, Deborah Russell Bagby (Mack) of Ohio, Shirley Russell Schadle (David) of Florida; sons, Edwin J. Russell IV (Sherie) of Columbia and Chad Ryan Russell (Heather) of Irmo; seven grandchildren whom he adored, Nicolle Schadle Cape, Tiffany Schadle Shegstad, Rachelle Schadle, Samantha, Alexander, Jordan and Alayna Russell; brother, Harold Russell of New Orleans. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 508, Hampton Street, Suite 200, Columbia, SC 29201-2765.
