Funeral services for Eleanor P. “Pat” Powell Newell, age 66, passed away on May 13, 2011, after her battle with cancer came to an end, will be held May 18, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home located on West Dunbar Road in West Columbia. The family will welcome friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 17, 2011 and 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 18, 2011. Interment will follow at Southland Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to SCOA Cares, 166 Stoneridge Drive, Columbia, South Carolina 29210.

Born in Columbia, South Carolina, the daughter of the late A. David (Louise) Powell and Annie Ruth (Clarence) Harlin. She leaves behind her husband, Clinton T. “Tom” Newell; children, Lisa (Ric) Watters of West Columbia, Sean (Deborah) Newell of West Columbia, Joe Robinson-Newell of Keene, NH, Tommy (Colleen) Newell of Lathan, NY, and Jill (Rich) Robinson of Argyle, NY; brothers and sisters, Wayne (Patsy) Powell, Marvin (Ann) Powell, and Mike Harlin; along with fifteen grandchildren, five great grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins, all of which were equally important to her.

A special thanks is given to all the family and friends who cared for and supported her in her journey to HEAVEN.
