Mr. Jackie B Carter Sr.

GASTON - Funeral services for Jackie Benson Carter Sr. “JB” will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, May 25, 2013 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, West Columbia Chapel with interment to follow in Southland Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Pastor Gene Henderson will officiate. The family will receive friends and family from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, May 24, 2013 at the funeral home and also 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. prior to the service.

Mr. JB Carter, 71, born August 30, 1941 in Georgetown, SC entered eternal rest on Monday, May 20, 2013. He was the son of the late John B. and Alice W. Carter. He was a Retired United States Navy Chief, an inspector at the Charleston Naval Shipyard and operated a successful fabrication business. Mr. Carter was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

Mr. Carter was predeceased by his wife, Eleanor Louise Carter and his sister, Mary Alice Williams. Mr. Carter is survived by his sons, Jackie B. (Melisa) Carter, Jr., John R. “Bobby” (Terri) Carter; his brothers, John “Buddy” Carter, Harold (Delores) Carter; his sisters, Peggy (Harvey) Harrell, Barbara (Spec) Wells, Nancy (Richard) Sharpe, Gladys (Dick) Rabon, Johnette (Jimmy) Drayton and his grandchildren, Jackie B. Carter III, Robert Carter, Bailey Carter, David Riley and Jeremy Riley.

Mr. Carter’s family would like to thank their many wonderful friends, Palmetto Health Hospice and Dr. Brad Markowitz for their loving care during this difficult time.
