CAYCE – James “Jimmie” Hornsby, 82, passed away on May 8, 2013 surrounded by his family.
Jimmie was born December 25, 1930 in Conway, SC and was a son of the late Melton E. Hornsby and Maggie Mae Hornsby. He proudly served in the United States Army and was a World War II Veteran. He was a Christian, loved God and believed deeply in the bible and the truths it offered.
He is survived by sons, James Donald Hornsby and Jesse Hornsby (Monica); daughter, Darlene Hornsby Hull (Johnny), and Diane Calcutt; eight grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. Jimmie was preceded in death by his wife of forty-eight years, Jewel Christine “Chris” Hornsby and sons, Wayne Hornsby and David Hornsby.
Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, West Columbia Chapel with interment in Southland Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 10, 2013 in the chapel. Pallbearers will be Johnny Ray Hull, John Hull, Robbie Brewer, Russell Brewer, John Brewer, John Dunlap, Ty Sturkie, and Jesse Hornsby, Jr.
