Judy Marie Shirey Waits, loving wife and mother of 5, passed away surrounded by her loved ones on Monday, August 18, 2025. She was born on August 27, 1942 to the late Mondale Jeffcoat and Jefferson Shirey.
Judy spent the majority of her life serving God and showing compassion to others. She always stood ready to assist anyone in need. Her heart and soul were defined by a generous spirit offering the same love and forgiveness to others that Jesus bestowed upon us. She will be profoundly missed by all the lives she has impacted!
She is survived by her husband of 68 years, James Arthur Waits; sons, Larry Waits and Tim Waits; daughters, Jackie Riddle and Shanna Bolin; along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Judy was predeceased by her son, Johnny Waits.
A visitation will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, August 21, 2025 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home - West Columbia Chapel, 820 West Dunbar Road, West Columbia, SC 29170, with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow the service at Southland Memorial Gardens.
