Kermit D. LaForce

Kermit was the owner of KDL LLC and worked in residential and commercial construction for over 50 years. He was a Shriner and served on the Director’s Staff. His passion was working with children. He loved playing the role of Santa in various parades and daycares each year. Kermit was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. He loved with his whole heart.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia L. LaForce; daughter, Mechelle (Eddie) Vining Mabry of South Congaree; daughter-in-law, Valerie Zacharias of West Columbia; grandchildren: Jacob Mabry and Coleman Mabry of South Congaree, William “Liam” LaForce of West Columbia, Logan and Skylar Vining of Rincon, Georgia; brother, Danny (Shirley) LaForce of Ohio; sisters, Geraldine Dotson of Virginia and Anne Garcia Sutherland of Texas and mother-in-law, Betty S. Rayfield of West Columbia; sister-in-law, Miriam (Jimmy) Williams of West Columbia and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sons, William Darrell LaForce of West Columbia, Gerard Wayne Vining of Rincon; brothers, Ronald “Ronnie” LaForce of Virginia, Wayne LaForce (Roxanne) of Virginia; brother-in-law, Glenn Dotson of Virginia and fathers-in-law, Lee Lunsford and William Rayfield.

The family would like to thank Three Oaks Hospice staff and a special thanks to Samone for brightening our darkest days and her loving care she provided. Also, the family would like to thank Ebenezer Pentecostal Holiness Church in South Congaree and Laurel Baptist Church in West Columbia, Ashley Hicks of Caughman-Harman Funeral Home for his generosity and guidance, friends and family for their support, love and prayers.
