Linda W. Chasteen

Linda W. Chasteen, 79, of Cayce, South Carolina, passed away surrounded by loved ones on April 1, 2026, after a long and difficult battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Born on August 13, 1946, in Richland County, Linda lived a life defined by dedication, kindness, and a deep love for her family.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jerry Chasteen, with whom she shared 28 loving years, and by her parents, John and Ruby (Green) Wood.

Linda dedicated many years of service to Martin Marietta, where she was well loved by her coworkers and formed many lasting friendships.

She found great joy in crafting and painting and had a special gift for creating beautiful things with her hands. Linda also had a deep love for animals—especially her many beloved dogs, who brought her constant companionship and happiness throughout her life.

She is survived by her children, daughter Dina (Ronnie) and son Scott (Jennifer); her sisters, Shirley (Dave) Wheeler and Kay (Gary) Correll; her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

A graveside service to honor Linda’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at Southland Memorial Gardens. Flowers may be sent to Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, West Columbia Chapel, located at 820 W. Dunbar Rd., West Columbia, SC 29170.

Linda will be remembered for her warm spirit, creative heart, and the love she shared so freely with those around her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
