Lovell retired from the U.S. Air Force after 22 years of dedicated service and later retired from State Whole Sale. He was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church for 54 years. Lovell was an avid gardener and loved his first dog, Bingo, as well as ducks and German Shepherds.
He is survived by children, Susan Southers, Christina McCormack, and John Henry Southers; grandchildren, Katherine Rosenbalm, Michael McCormack (Amy), Matthew McCormack (Shea), John Wesley Southers (Tiffany); 8 great-grandchildren and 4 step great-grandchildren.
Lovell was predeceased by wife, Betty Mary Southers; brothers, Ernest & Ralph; and sisters Alta Southers and Christine Rollins; son-in-law, Manning L. McCormack
A private graveside service will be held at Southland Memorial Gardens. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on March 31, 2026 at Calvary Baptist Church, 1724 W Main St, Lexington, SC 29072.
