Margaret Ivey Gibson

SWANSEA - Funeral services for Margaret Ivey Gibson, 94, of Swansea, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 19, 2015 at Mt. Herman Baptist Church in Pelion, SC with interment in Southland Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hospice Care of Tri County, 166 Stoneridge Dr. Suite 100, Columbia, SC 29210 or Mt. Herman Baptist Church, 1845 Cedar Creek Rd. Pelion, SC 29123.

The Lord called our beloved and precious mother home Monday, February 16, 2015 after a short illness. Born September 25, 1920 in Maxton, NC she was the daughter of the late, Andrew Frank Ivey and Carrie Mattox Ivey. Mrs. Gibson was a member of Mt. Herman Baptist Church and dedicated her life to the Lord and her family.

Mrs. Gibson is survived by her sons, James D. Gibson (Sandy) of Palm Bay, FL, Robert P. Gibson (Linda) of Louisville, OH and William “Bud” Gibson (Darlene) of Morganton, NC; daughters, Ann (Jimmy) Simpson of Swansea and Peggy (Roger) Blile of Louisville, OH; seven grandchildren, Mike and Troy Blile, Bobby, Chris, Jimmy, Kim and Randy Gibson; eleven great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild; three sisters, Irene, Sarah and Mary of NC and one brother Doug. She is preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, James Pate Gibson, four brothers and one sister. Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, West Columbia Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
